Best Bike Rack Hitch for 2018 Lexus NX 300H

Question:

Hello, Looking for the right hitch. I have a 2018 Lexus NX300H and a 2Kuat 2NV bike rack. Weight of the rack is 52 lbs and, with extra 4 bike add on, up to 90 lbs. I have not purchased the add on yet, however. Two road bikes would add ~45 lbs total. Two gravel or mountain bikes might total 60 lbs. Which hitch would you recommend: class 2 or 3? Thank you.

For your 2018 Lexus NX 300h I recommend the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C13337 class 3 hitch. This hitch will allow you to be able to carry more accessories and handle the weight better when loading 4 bikes. The only 4 bike racks that use a 1-1/4" receiver are hanging racks.

The 2" receiver is what you will need for your Kuat NV 2.0 Bike Rack # NV22G (Gunmetal Gray), # BA22B (Matte Black), or # NV22B (Metallic Black). The 2" racks are the only racks that are able to accommodate the add on racks.

The 2-Bike Add-On's # NA22G (Gunmetal Gray), # BA02B (Matte Black), and # NA22B (Metallic Black) are designed to work with their corresponding 2" Kuat NV 2.0 bike racks and allow you to carry up to 4 bikes.

They offer a Kuat Pivot 2 Swing Away Hitch Extender # PVP20B as well that can be utilized if you find yourself wanting better access to your cargo area without having to remove the bikes or bike rack to access.
