Can Lippert 1116 Be Replaced with Trailair LC158777 Air Ride Pin Box for Lippert 1716

Question:

I would like to know if i can replace my mor ryde #1116 standard pin box with a 1716 air ride # 158777 . They appear to have the same dimensions except the 158777 appears to be a little longer which might actually help my turning radius . i own a 2014 montana mountainer which i pull with a class 8 truck.

The Lippert 1116 and 1716 do indeed share the same bolt pattern, the only difference is that the # LC158777 is about 5-3/4 inches longer, so you could use the # LC158777 to provide more clearance. However, you'll want to be aware that extending the pin box can have warranty implications due to the added stress an extended pin box can place on the trailer frame. This is a moot point in your case, as a 2014 model year 5th wheel would be out of warranty at this point, but I wanted you to be aware.

Lippert also offers the shorter version for the 1116, which is part # LC155943.
