What Aftermarket Crossbars can Hold Two Thule Hullavators with Kayaks on a 2020 Subaru Outback?

Question:

Is there any way I can get 2 Thule Hullavators on a 2020 Subaru Outback with factory installed roof rack/crossbars? I know I need after market crossbars that hang over the side of the existing roof rack but can’t seem to find any that are compatible and that will support the load of the hullavators plus the kayaks 38lbs ea Any other lift assist kayak rack options that would work for the two kayaks?

I think I found a good solution! The weight of the two Thule Hullavators # TH898 and two 38 pound kayaks would need a weight capacity on a rack system that could carry 154 pounds. It would also have to have much longer crossbars than your average since this takes up 36" of crossbars space. Crossbars that would accommodate this on your factory roof rack would be the 78" Yakima HD Crossbars # Y01159. These bars have a maximum capacity of 220 pounds. In order to attach these bars to your rails, you can use the TimberLine Towers for Yakima Crossbars # Y33TR along with the SL Adapters # Y03541. The towers have a load capacity of 220 pounds as well.

With that being said, I recommend making sure that the crossbars do not extend past the length of the side mirrors in order to remain within the traffic laws.
