Can T-One Connector 118812 Be Wired To Existing 12v Outlet On 2021 Hyundai Tuscon?
Updated 04/09/2021 | Published 04/07/2021 >
Question:
In my 2021 Hyundai Tucson Limited there is a 180w power outlet in the back of the vehicle almost adjacent to the drivers side tail light that is never used. Could I just take the power feed for that outlet and connect it to the power wire for the trailer module light box? This power outlet is keyed power, so power is only provided when the ignition is on and has its own dedicated 15A fused circuit. Of course I understand this means the outlet could not be used when a trailer was connected.

To install the Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # 118812 you were looking at on your 2021 Hyundai Tuscon you will need to route the power wire up to the positive terminal of your battery with the included fuse.
These harness are tested with a dedicated circuit, and wiring it into an existing circuit can overload that circuit whenever the outlet is used and damage the modu-lite box which would not be covered by the warranty.
I included a video of the # 118812 for you to take a look at.
