Question:
Is there an alternate set of mounts for the slimshady that I can bolt to the top of my truck bed? Or maybe a knob or small section of crossbar that I can bolt down so the bar mounts can grab them? Or some way to get a piece of metal that grabs the awnings rail? Attached sketch of what Im thinking of. If not, any suggestions for how to make this work? Ive already got the awning and use it on my car, but would like to be able to swap it.

We do have ways to connect your awning to your truck but brackets aren't your best options. I would suggest getting the Yakima BedRock HD Truck Bed Crossbars # Y01160-58. Your SlimShady # Y56VR should have came with clamps # 8880737 which will clamp to the HD bars on your bed. This will give you the location you're wanting!
The HD Bars can be used from truck to truck and doesn't take much time or effort at all to get it installed! Check out my installation video to see how it works.
