Question:

I have two questions. Do you have to remove the springs to get the air bags inside the coil springs. Is one brand Firestone or Air Lift ....better quality?

You will not need to remove the springs on your 1999 Ford Expedition in order to install the Firestone Coil-Rite Air Helper Springs # F4134. You will insert the deflated air bags into the coiled springs from the bottom as shown in the graphic I have provided. I have also provided a link to the full installation instructions for this product.

These air springs will help reduce tire wear but will not increase your vehicles weight-carrying capacity. The weight capacity of these springs are 500-1000 lbs, but do not exceed your vehicles recommended weight limit.

To answer your second question, I would go with Firestone over Air Lift AirLift 1000 Air Helper Springs # AL61792. Both have been highly-rated by our customers but with Firestone having been in the industry so long and the leader in air bag suspension, I would go with them.
