Installing Putco Venture Tec Rack with Bak Revolver X4 on 2017 Ford F-150

Question:

Good morning, I have a Bak Industries Revolver X4 on my 2017 Ford F150 6 1/2 foot bed and looking for an overland rack capable of carrying a tent. The tonneau rails seem to slightly overlap the stake pocket on the bed. I called Putco for information, and as your previous emailer with the 2019 F150, they could offer only limited advice. Is that overlap a problem? Id rather go with a stake anchored rack than an RCI adaptor as those seem a little flimsy. Any advice would be helpful. Thank you

The Putco Venture Tec Overland Truck Bed Rack # P184110 has brackets that use the entire stake pocket plus a little bit extra. If your BAK Revolver X4 Hard Tonneau Cover overlaps over your stake pockets, then it's not a fit.

That being said, it isn't usual for the BAK Revolver X4 to overlap onto the stake pockets. Since they're designed to install inside your bed, keeping the stake pockets open is a big part of their design. I attached the install video for the BAK Revolver X4 BAK79331 on a Ford F-350. It's a different vehicle, but the install process should be similar. There's been times when I install tonneau covers and then I have to redo the whole thing because my clamps weren't in the right spot or I mis-measured something. My tonneau cover would be off by half an inch or so which makes a big difference in the end. Follow through the video and just double check that all the clamps are where they are supposed to be in case that is causing the overlap problem?
