Question:
Will the Tekonsha controller shut off by its self and will it run my battery down if not?

Helpful Expert Reply:
Tekonsha brake controllers like the Prodigy P3 Brake Controller, # 90195 will go into sleep mode after several minutes of inactivity and the power draw when it is in the sleep mode is so negligible that it will not discharge the battery. If you want the brake controller totally off then you would have to unplug the connector from the back of the controller, but as mentioned, the power draw in sleep mode is insignificant and I've never heard of that being the reason someone's battery has drained.
If you're looking for a plug and play installation of a Tekonsha brake controller then you'll want to use the # 3070-P adapter.
