Recommended Bag for Thule TH859XT Canyon Roof Mounted Cargo Basket

Hi, I have the Thule Canyon XT and am looking for a weather proof cargo bag. Have any recommendations or is the Thule Interstate the choice to make? Thanks

The interior dimensions of the Thule Canyon # TH859XT cargo basket are about 39 x 36 inches, so for the most cargo carrying ability you'll want to find a bag of that approximate size.

At 40 x 38 inches, the Thule Interstate cargo bag, part # TH869 would be a good choice. It's soft sided, so even though it's an inch longer and 2 inches wider than the interior dimensions of the basket, it'll still fit very well. The bag has a sloped front face for better aerodynamics and provides 16 cubic feet of storage, which is pretty generous. The bag is constructed of a very water resistant TPE material, which is best described as a rubber/plastic hybrid that is flexible and features storm flaps that cover the zipper when it's closed. The back even features integrated hold down straps so it'll attach securely.

One thing I always warn folks about...When using any cargo bag, always be proactive and pack anything that cannot get wet in plastic. This bag does a very good job of keeping water out, but if you find yourself traveling in an extended downpour, water will eventually work its way in there.
