Question:
2011 gmc 2500 HD. Lowered an inch or two . Plan on installing air bags on rear . Need to know what bag will work best at 4 to 5 in average range, but really need the 9 or 10 inches of travel for very temporary frame clearance. This is for work not play

We do have one option for your 2011 GMC Sierra 2500HD being the Air Lift SlamAir Air Helper Springs for Lowered Trucks # AL59209 which is designed for trucks lowered between 2" - 6". This kit offers a 2000lb load leveling capability and can be used between 10-100 PSI allowing you the adjustability you are looking for to keep your lowered truck level when you are hauling a heavy load. This kit is only confirmed to fit 2WD models, and will not work if your truck is a 4WD model.
If you are carrying more than 2000lbs, or if your truck is 4WD model, the only option would be to raise the rear of your truck to the factory ride height and using a standard kit like the Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 Air Helper Springs # AL57338 which offers a 5000lb load leveling capacity, and is specifically designed for heavy duty trucks like yours that are used to haul or tow quite a bit of weight.
With all of that said, air helper springs are designed to support your suspension by leveling the truck allowing weight to be put back on the front axle to improve steering and prolong the life of your suspension components, but they are not designed to raise the ride height of your truck above the unloaded ride height.
To be able to control the air helper springs without having to manually fill them, I recommend the Air Lift Load Controller I Compressor System for Air Helper Springs # AL25651 which will allow you to control the air pressure in the helper springs from the comfort of your driver seat.
I included the instructions of the # AL59209 and a video of the # AL25651 and # AL57338 for you to take a look at.
