Question:
I noticecd that there is a large rubber stopper inside the coils of my 4Runner. I am assuming they have to be removed in order for the air bags to fit properly?

The large rubber stopper that you see inside of the coil spring on your Toyota 4Runner is a jounce bumpers. The jounce bumpers help absorb some of the shock that the coil springs absorb. Your vehicle may have a large or a small jounce bumper. If you have the small jounce bumper, it will need to be unbolted and it will not be re-installed.
If you have a large jounce bumper, Air Lift recommends trimming the bumper as specified in the installation instructions. I have attached a link to the installation instructions for you to check out.
The type of jounce bumper that you have will also determine how the air bag will install in the coil spring. This is also detailed in the installation instructions. If you have any further questions on the installation after reviewing the instructions, just let me know.
