Should you Re-install the DeeZee Tailgate Assist if it was Installed Upside-Down

Question:
I seem to have installed the assist shock absorber upside down, with the skinny part on the down side. Should this mater? It seems to function properly but would it be any better the other way? It doesnt want to come out easily and Im afraid to force it out of the ball socket.

If you installed the DeeZee Tailgate Assist, part # DZ43204, upside-down, then I recommend removing it and installing it rightside-up. Though it seems to be working properly now, there may be some unforeseen complications later on, so it's better to be safe than sorry.
As for forcing it, don't worry about this too much. It's a snap-in-place assembly, so there isn't a risk of damaging the components.
