Question:
Hello - Need some assistance choosing a 2 or 3 bike car rack for a 2013 Honda Fit. Do not want a trunk rack. Assuming I will need a receiver a long with the chosen rack. Looking for recommendations on what to choose and also a place to get the receiver installed. Having a hard time finding a local place that is open to potentially get the receiver installed if needed.

To carry three bikes on your 2013 Honda Fit, you need a special Class III hitch receiver like the EcoHitch # 306-X7286. This one is a little bit pricier and harder to install, but it allows you to carry more bikes and has a 2" hitch receiver. Otherwise, you can get a Class I Hitch by Curt # C11064. Any Class I hitch can only carry up to two bikes and has a 1-1/4" hitch receiver. Still a great hitch and it's a lot easier to install, but that's something you have to consider.
For a bike rack, we have many great options depending on what you're looking for. If you want extra ground clearance with your 2013 Honda Fit, the Curt 4 Platform Bike Rack # C18087 is a good option. This fits great especially if you have regular style bikes, and you want functional options like tilt-away and folding at a reasonable price point. When you're just carrying two bikes, you can also take off the two-bike extension on this rack.
As for recommendations for an installer, we do not work with local installers. My advice for that situation is to follow our install guides and recommendations before asking local shops for quotes. the EcoHitch # 306-X7286 has a 10 out of 10 difficulty and we estimate a 2-hour install time. No drilling is needed, but your fascia may need to be trimmed. Giving this information to your local shop can help them give are more accurate quote for the work
