You need the Replacement Hardware Kit for Trailer Hitches Item # RHK to install the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2" Item # 76034 on your 2014 Ford Explorer. As far as a wiring I recommend the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with 7-Way Trailer Connector Item # C56278. This harness plugs directly into factory plugs, located under the vehicle, on the passenger side. I recommend using Dielectric Grease for Electrical Connectors, 2 oz. Item # 11755 on the connectors under the vehicle. This will help keep the plugs pins from corroding and causing a short.
To mount the plug, I recommend the Mounting Bracket and Installation Hardware - Pollak 7-Pole, RV-Style Trailer Connector - Vehicle End Item # PK12711U.
If you are needing a brake controller I recommend the Curt Echo Wireless Trailer Brake Controller - 1 to 2 Axles - Proportional Item # C51180. This controller doesn't require any additional wires to be connected or a brake controller inside the vehicle. It simply plugs into your 7 pole plug, the cable from the trailer plugs into the end and it utilizes your cell phone as the controller.
