I need crossbars for my Acura MDX for a rooftop tent. Width needs to be 40inch. What is recommended?

I have two recommendations for a Roof Rack System for your 2020 Acura MDX depending if it has flush mounted roof rails that run front to back or if it has a bare roof.
If your MDX has the flush mounted roof rails that run front to back I highly recommend Thule WingBar Evo Roof Rack System that uses 53" Thule WingBar Evo Crossbars # TH711420, Rapid Podium Feet for Thule Crossbars # TH460R, and Fit Kit # THKIT3132. This system will give you 53" of useable crossbar space, a generous weight capacity of 165lbs, and the aero bar design will help prevent the obnoxious wind noise that is common with square or round crossbars.
If your MDX has a bare roof I recommend the Rhino-Rack Vortex Aero Roof Rack System that uses the 54" Rhino-Rack Vortex Aero Crossbars # RRVA137B-2, Rhino-Rack 2500 Series Legs for Vortex Aero Crossbars # RRRLKVA, and Fit Kit # DK400. This system offers 54" of useable crossbar space, and the same 165lb weight capacity as the Thule system.
The Yakima SkyRise HD Tent # Y07437 that we offer requires a minimum crossbar weight capacity of 165lbs, so as long as your rooftop tent has the same requirements either of these roof rack systems will work great. I recommend checking the owner's manual for your tent or contact the manufacturer to find out the crossbar weight capacity requirement for your tent.
