Question:

Will the arms of the Thule Passage 3 fold down while installed on the car? Id like to keep the rack on the car. I have a 2012 Toyota Camry. It appears that they fold down on the Yakima King Joe 3.

Yes, the arms on the Thule Passage trunk mount bike rack # TH911XT can fold down when not in use. I have included a link to the installation instructions for you that covers the movement of the arms and other installation information.

If you want to leave the rack on the car periodically that is perfectly fine. But for long periods of time between uses it is recommended to remove the rack from the vehicle because it will eventually mar the vehicle finish.

The arms on the Yakima KingJoe 3, Y02620, do fold down as well like you have said.

For any two arm bike rack if you will be carrying bikes that do not have a top frame tube that goes straight across I recommend using a bike adapter bar like # TH982XT. This will allow you to carry the bikes more level while providing better ground clearance. I have included a link to a video that shows how the adapter works.
