Tailgate Lock that Fits 1982 GMC Sierra 2500

Question:
I have a 1982 GMC High Sieria C2500 truck, I would like to put a locking aluminum roll top tannau cover on the bed but without a locking tailgate latch the cargo will not be secure. Will the Pop and Lock Custom Tailgate Lock for Steel Tailgate Handle PAL2300 work on my truck tailgate latch handle? I look forward to your response, Thanks,

We have a locking tailgate handle that fits your 1082 GMC Sierra 2500 with the part # PAL1700 but the # PAL2300 is not a fit for your truck.
