Does the Spare Tire Need Lowered To Install etrailer Hitch On 2020 Ford Ranger
Question:
Hi I see on a different video and the instructions for this hitch that I received on the trailer hitch I bought from yall indicates to lower the spare tire on a 2020 Ranger. Is there are reason for this? It doesnt look like the spare interferes with any of the bolts. What type of extension to lower the spare does your instructor use on the installation video? It looks like it would be a lot easier to use than the factory tool you use to lower the spare. Thanks

In regard to the etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver part # e63ZR which is a fit for a 2020 Ford Ranger, the instructions do not require the lowing of your spare tire to install this hitch. We sometimes do this when making videos to give our viewers a better picture of what is being done.
To do this, I use a spare tire removal tool that comes in a kit with different ones for the major manufactures such as Ford, GM, and Chrysler. I really wouldn't recommend obtaining this unless you worked in a shop as they are quite expensive for the kit.
