Question:

I have a 2020 Kia Telluride. The owners manual says the roof rack can hold 220lbs, but the factory crossbars they sell can only hold 165lbs evenly distributed. This is frustrating and moronic. Anyway, what crossbars can you recommend for the the Kia 2020 Telluride that will hold 220lbs? Thanks!

There are a lot of great options for roof racks for your 2020 Kia Telluride, but unfortunately, none of them meet the 220 lbs weight capacity you are looking for. 165 lbs is a common weight limit for roof rack systems. This is usually because of the limitations of the mounting system. Your vehicle roof and typically the actual crossbars themselves can be rated for 220 lbs but the mounting feet that attaches the bars to your roof might be rated for less, so this becomes the limit for the entire system. Depending on the style of vehicle you have, there are still some great options for roof racks for your vehicle.
