Question:

Im looking to tow my 2012 Scion XD, and wanted to know if the BX7380 Alpha 2 was a good tow bar to do that, and if the BX3778 base plate would work with that also ? The Scion has a curb weight at 2665 lbs. Also, can you tell me what other accessories Ill need for it ??.....Electrical plugs, braking assists cables, safety cables, etc. Just want to make sure I have everything I need to tow, and that it all fits together !! Thank you

For your 2012 Scion XD, the Blue Ox Base Plate Kit - Removable Arms # BX3778 is a confirmed fit that will require some trimming of the fascia. I've attached the installation instructions to assist. The Blue Ox Alpha 2 Tow Bar - Motorhome Mount - 6,500 lbs # BX7380 will be a great fit for your vehicle and these base plates. This comes with the safety cables you need.

For your wiring, I recommend the Roadmaster Tail Light Wiring Kit w/ 7-Way to 6-Wire Connector - LED Bulb and Socket - Red # RM-152-LED-7. Then you will also need # RM-88400 relay is required to prevent the towed vehicle's brake signal from overriding the turn signal from the RV when applying the brakes during a turn.

For the braking system, I recommend the Roadmaster InvisiBrake Supplemental Braking System # RM-8700. This will allow you to simply plug it in and you'll be ready to go.
