How close to the wall can it be installed? How much room do you need? The toilet now is 12 1/2inch from the wall to the center hole.

The Dometic Weekender RV Toilet # DOM24FR will absolutely fit with a measurement of 12-1/2 inches from the wall to the center hole.
This toilet is a total of 19-1/2 inches long, but the drain hole is at the rear of the toilet, as you can see in the accompanying photo, so you'll have room to spare.
I have added a link to a video review for you to check out as well of the Dometic Weekender RV Toilet # DOM24FR.
