There isn't any way to reset the combination when the box is locked and the numbers have been scrambled. This leaves 3 options.

-1) Replace the box.

-2) Begin at 0000 and try each consecutive number until you get the correct combination. Since there's 10,000 possible combinations, this will take awhile and won't be much fun.

-3) Try this hack. I haven't tried it on a 4 dial lock, but it works on a typical 3 dial lock. Spin each dial a few times and stop at zero. Then once all dials are at zero, use your thumb to put pressure on the button that opens the lid while you turn the furthest dial to nine, then 8, then 7, etc. If it works like a 3 dial lock, you'll feel some resistance in the dial when you get to the correct number. Repeat for each of the other dials working closer to the release button. With a 3 dial lock, you'll end up with the correct combination, hopefully it works for the 4 dial variety.
