Does Installation of TNRTTNA on 2018 Nissan Titan xD Require Removal of Axle U Bolts
Updated 08/13/2020 | Published 08/11/2020 >
Question:
I am installing the Timbren TNRTTNA jounce springs on my 2018 Nissan Titan Pro 4x crew cab with the Cummins diesel to provide better handling. I saw a comment on a Nissan Forum that when you unbolt the u-bolt you need to replace it because of thread damage. Is this correct? What do I need to torque the bolts to? Do you carry the u bolt?

When installing the Timbren # TNRTTNA you should only need to loosen the axle U-bolts, and not completely remove them. I can't say that it would be the worst idea to replace a bolt that was likely torqued to install, but it's not something we carry. Most likely these would be specific to your 2018 Nissan Titan xD so you would need to source those from an auto parts store or your Nissan dealer. From what I was able to find from my research it looks like those bolts are designed to be torqued to 89-ft/lbs.
