Question:

I have a Blue Ox BX4325 tow bar with cables and a Blue Ox Brake Control BX88179. My RV is a 2008 Tiffin Phaeton and I will be towing a 2014 Jeep Wrangler Sahara with a stock bumper. My understanding is that I need to purchase a Blue Ox base plate BX1126, a EZ light wiring harness BX88285, and a Blue Ox coiled cable BX88206. Do I have any better options to save money with another brand of plug and play wiring harness that works the same or better than the Blue Ox BX88285? Also, are there any better options for me than the BX88206? I do want easy plug and play as I plan on doing the install myself and do not want to be splicing and soldering wires.

You are correct that with your Blue Ox Apollo tow bar the correct base plate is the Blue Ox Base Plate Kit # BX1126.

I have added links to the instructions and a video install for you which may be helpful. As for the wiring, we do not carry the Blue Ox EZ harness you mentioned but we do have a plug-in option, the Hopkins Custom Tail Light Wiring Kit for Towed Vehicles # HM56200.

This will plug into your tail lights and you would also need an adapter to plug into your RV's 7-way, the Wesbar Coiled Adapter - 7-Way RV to 4-Way or 5-Way flat # 787196.
