I have a solution for you, but in order to replace the spring component on your Bulldog jack you would need to purchase the entire Replacement Gear Kit for Bulldog Sidewind Jacks w/ 12,000-lb Capacity # BD500212. This would be the only way to get the appropriate spring for this jack.

Parts like this do malfunction occasionally, so it might be worth having the extra parts on hand in the event that the gears stripped out at some point in the future. You could also completely change all of the components out and give yourself a mostly new jack.
