Question:

Does class 3 hitch increase load capacity ? 2014 auto with 308 rear ended Photo below: 6700 lbs Is that my true limit or can tow 7400 lbs ? Original book-8800 lbs

A hitch will not change the towing capacity listed in the owner's manual, which will always take precedence. For example, even if you had a Class V hitch installed that had a 16,000 lb capacity, you'd be limited by the actual towing capacity of the truck. If your truck is a 1500 that has the 3.08 rear end, is a crew cab and has the 5.3L engine, the towing capacity is 6700 lbs, which is what the current online copy of the owner's manual states.
