Question:

I understand how this Hollywood rack will protect the spoiler on the car, but my question is how do you attach the bottom straps on the Limited model which has a trim piece at the bottom of the rear hatch door? The trim prevents one from attaching the straps to the hatch. So is it safe to attach the lower straps to the underside of the rear bumper? The bumper is just a vinyl piece so I dont know if that is secure.

Great question!

Since you have that extra trim piece at the bottom of your 2017 Toyota RAV4 Limited you're going to want to install the hatch anchors that come with the Hollywood Racks Over-the-Top 3 Bike Rack # HRF2-3. The cylinder-looking piece will sit inside your rear cargo area and you close the hatch with the strap hanging out. This way when you attach the bike rack to the straps they will pull that cylinder against the closed rear hatch and that's what secures the lower portion of your Over-the-Top.

If you have extra trim at the top too then you will want to pick up a second set of the anchors with part # HR44FR.
