Question:
What precautions do you have to take when running your generator while it is mounted on the Stromberg Carlson Trailer Tray? Do I need to ground my Honda 2000i? How do I use it in the rain?

As long as you have the generator secured on the Stromberg Carlson Trailer Tray Cargo Carrier, part # CC-255, you can run the generator while it is mounted on the carrier. If the generator needs to be grounded with a grounding rod it's probably best to remove it from the tray though.
I recommend using s-hook ratchet straps like part # SM54FR. These are 1-inch straps that are 10-ft long, and it has a capacity of 500-lbs.
The tray of the # CC-255 has holes that you could install eye-bolts through to give the straps a place to grab, or you can use the holes that are on the sides of the tray to use with strap hooks. I have attached a photo of the tray with a generator secured with straps using those holes you can check out.
