Surfboard Carrier Recommendation for a 2019 Subaru Crosstrek with OEM Cross Bars

Question:

Im in search of the best option to transport a 7-10ft surfboard to and from the beach on the weekends in my new 2019 Subaru Crosstrek. There will be some short distance highway driving so I want it to be secure, but it will only be used in the summer months a couple of times a year. I have the OEM Subaru Cross Bars installed on my car already, but Im having trouble figuring out if this model of the Thule Shuttle Board Carrier or Thule Surf Pads will fit my OEM cross bars and which is better. Also, could I easily use different straps such as the Dakine Baja Straps with this carrier?

You can essentially use any tie-down system with either the Thule SUP Shuttle Stand-Up Paddleboard Carrier with Tie-Downs # TH811XT or 20" # TH845000 or 30" # TH846000 pads on the OEM roof rack you have for your 2019 Subaru Crosstrek.

With that being said, if you're looking for the best then look no further than the Inno Locker Watersport Carrier w/ Crossbar Pads # INA446. This uses a clamping-style of mount so it is compatible with your OEM roof rack, it comes with pads to protect your surfboard, plus this carrier has the ability to lock so that you can have some extra peace of mind once your board is loaded up.
