Will this Thule Outway 3 fit the 2010 Toyota Highlander? I need a rack and do not have a trailer hitch installed.

Due to the fact that the support hooks would need to attach directly to the glass in the rear tailgate, none of our bike rack manufacturers recommend using a trunk mount rack on your vehicle. The glass lacks the strength to support the weight of the bikes and the carrier, and could shatter unexpectedly.
This leaves a roof mount or a hitch mount option.
If you have a bare roof, Rhino Rack the Vortex Aero Roof Rack that could be constructed using # RRVA137S-2 54 inch crossbars, the # RRRLKVA roof rack feet and the # DK138 vehicle specific clamp kit.
A hitch mounted option using the Draw-Tite Class III receiver, part # 75726 in conjunction with a roof mounted bike rack would be your best bet. The hitch would also come in handy if you should need to tow a trailer or use a cargo carrier in the future. The Swagman Trailhead, part # S63365 is a good relatively inexpensive choice.
