Question:
I purchased these STL101RB lights to replace old incandescent lights in my RV. The old and new lights are both exactly 4 5/16inch across. However the new Optronics lights will NOT go into the opening. I believe the issue is the ridges inside the recommended grommet, which are making it too tight. What is the best and easiest way to slightly enlarge the openings on a Finbreglass RV with Gel-Coat finish? Im hoping I just need to enlarge that hole by 1/8inch all the wau around to make these awesome lights fit. Optronics GloLight LED Tail Light # STL101RB will not fit 4 3/8 opening

Expert Reply:
The GloLight LED Trailer Tail Light - Stop,Turn,Tail - Submersible - 21 Diodes - Round - Red Lens # STL101RB along with the grommet # A45GB requires a 4-1/2 inch cutout. I recommend using a rotary tool like a Dremel or a manual metal file to evenly enlarge the holes to that size. I recommend drawing the hole side on the RV and then make sure to use fine sand paper or file so you don't take off more material than you desire.
