Question:

Dutton Lainson Trailer Coupler Repair kit. The repair kit states that it is for repair of couplers with 2 balls and works with Model 980. My coupler is marked 980-2. Is the repair kit compatible? Does the -2 inch simply denote a 2 inch ball?

You will be able to use the Repair Kit for Dutton-Lainson Couplers # DL13970.

The coupler you have is the 980 P-2 which does mean it has a 2 inch trailer hitch ball so this coupler repair kit will work for you.
