I have the square load bars on my 1997 Volkswagen, are these the brackets I need to mount my pro ride xt?? Part 1500052940.

They are indeed! To use the Thule # TH598004 ProRide with square crossbars, you'll need the # 1500052940 adapter piece. The adapter is included with the rack, but if you've misplaced it we do offer the replacement # 1500052940 as well.
