Question:

I have your Roadmaster falcon 2 tow bars. Will this mounting plate fit the Falcon tow bar that I have. This Ford Focus is a manual transmission. Do you see any trouble that I might have?

The 2000 Ford Focus with the manual transmission is towable as is. The automatic model must be towed with a tow dolly. So, you will be able to flat tow your Focus since it is a manual transmission.

The Roadmaster EZ Base Plate Kit, part # 52491-1, you have referenced, are the correct base plates for your Ford Focus.

The Roadmaster Falcon 2 tow bar will work with the Roadmaster EZ base plates on your Focus.

To complete the towing set up for your Ford Focus, you will also need safety cables, wiring, and a supplemental braking system as required by law.

For safety cables, I recommend Roadmaster Coiled Safety Cables, part # RM-643. For wiring, there are a couple of options. If you do not plan on towing the Focus very often, I would go with a magnetic light kit like Magnetic Towing Light Kit, part # RM-2120. If you do plan on towing the Focus frequently, it would be beneficial to install the Roadmaster Diode Wiring Kit, part # RM-154. I am including a link to a FAQ page on how to choose tow bar wiring.

For a braking system, The easiest to use and install is the Roadmaster Even Brake Portable Proportional Braking System, part # RM-9400. This unit installs quickly so you are ready to go in minutes. It engages the towed vehicle brakes proportionally to how much the towing vehicle is braking, reducing wear of both the towing vehicle and towed vehicle brakes.
