Will the Rhino-Rack Batwing Awning Work With Square Crossbars

Hi I was wonduring if this would work on my subaru Impreza I have thule square load bars was wondering if it would work being on a low car and just have the awning on an upper angle or would this not work?

The Rhino-Rack Batwing Awning part # RR33200 can only be installed on crossbars with top channels which square crossbars don't have. Therefore, a better option would be the Yakima SlimShady Awning part # Y36VR which uses wraparound clamps. The height of the vehicle would not be an issue for either awning.
