I do have a fold-away trailer tongue coupler kit that will work on a 3x4 trailer frame, the Fulton Fold-Away Coupler Hinge Kit part # FHDPB350101. That said, you will need to use shims/spacers to fill the rest of the gap. This is actually explained in the instructions and very common so no need to worry.
