Will Extending the Trailer Tongue Affect Tongue Weight
Updated 05/20/2020 | Published 05/16/2020 >
Question:
As extending the hitch would reduce the hitch weight capacity by half, I am thinking of maybe just extending the trailer tongue instead. If I were to extend the trailer tongue bu about 15, would that increase the trailer tongue weight? Thanks!

Extending the trailer tongue will not increase the trailer tongue weight, it may actually do the opposite but you may be able to shift cargo or your boat forwards to get the tongue weight back where you want it. Please keep in mind extending the tongue would need to be done by a professional welder.
