Question:
I am looking for something to make hooking the coupling of a gooseneck easier. My uncle is getting older and has a hard time climbing over/into the bed of his truck to latch\unlatch his goose ball. He told me he wants to convert his trailer to 5th wheel because its easier. I am trying to find an alternative to that because if he does I wont be able to borrow it anymore :

We do have a few things that might work out for your uncle.
The first thing is the Wire Stick # C5G-STICK which is used for (and comes with) the Convert-A-Ball Multi-Cushioned Gooseneck Trailer Coupler # CG. This is basically just an extension that can be used to lock and unlock the coupler but you have to have a handle that faces up to use this.
Another option which is to use a Gen-Y coupler in place of the current coupler that he is using. If he only tows one gooseneck trailer then if you replace the coupler with something like the Spartan # 325-GH-7062 he won't have to get inside his truck bed at all. This coupler automatically locks into place and then it also comes with a hook that you'll just pull on to unlatch the trailer when you're ready. This does cost quite a bit more than just the wire stick but that's because you get the upgraded torsion shock system that really improves the quality of towing a gooseneck trailer as well as the auto-latching feature so using the included wire hook is only for uncoupling.
