Question:

Hi, I am looking for a trailer hitch for a 2006 Passat to use a bike rack so I dont need a hug amount of weight. It looks as if you only sell a 1-1/4 hitch and i read in your QandA that you discourage using a 1-1/4 to 2 adaptor, but it doesnt look like you have any other options. Almost all bike racks I have seen use the 2 receiver. Am I missing a piece of the puzzle? Thanks

There are more bike racks made for 2 inch hitches but there are quite a few that fit 1-1/4 inch hitches like what we offer for your 2006 Volkswagen Passat like part # C11091. For example we have our very popular Hollywood Racks Trail Rider part # HR200Z that fits both hitch sizes. This would be the way to go over a hitch adapter that cuts the capacity of the hitch by 50 percent and adds quite a bit of movement.
