Question:

I have a 45 Jayco Northpoint fifth wheel that has a factory installed 2 receiver that is rated for 300 lbs of cargo carrying capacity. I am looking for a four position bike rack. I would prefer a tray style to minimize contact between the bikes, I cant seem to find one rated for a fifth wheel. What is the absolute best four position bike rack for my applicaton?

The Yakima LongHaul part # Y02476 is the best 4 bike rack that is RV approved like you need for your fifth wheel application. The ride quality is pretty rough at the rear of an RV which is why bike racks need to be reinforced for this. Platform bike racks are typically heavy and longer which is why there are none in this style approved for the application. The LongHaul is very easy to load and unload, lighter weight at 32 lbs, and is also very well built with a lifetime warranty. It also has anti-sway cradles to prevent the bikes from hitting each other. See attached review video.

If you plan on carrying any womens or alternative framed bikes without horizontal top tubes you may also be interested in purchasing a Kuat Bike Frame Adapter Bar # UB01 to provide a horizontal top tube on your bikes to provide an attachment point. I attached a review video for this product also. This will allow the bikes to be carried more level and will provide more ground clearance.
