Comparing Wiring Harnesses for a 2019 MINI Countryman S

Question:

Hi, looks like there are 2 possible harness kits that will fit my 2019 MINI Countryman S. Other thank the difference of not having to splice into wires with the ZCI kit, what are the other advantages and disadvantages of the harnesses? Certainly, there is a significant difference in the pricing, but I am more concerned with the other differences. I do not plan to have the plug mounted outside the vehicle. Thanks,

The Tekonsha ZCI # 119250KIT and Curt # C59236 are essentially the same thing, with the difference being the ZCI, as you noted, doesn't require splicing.

The Curt has slightly higher max amp ratings (7.5 for tail and 5 for stop/turn) than the Tekonsha kit (7.5 for tail and 4.2 for stop/turn).

Ultimately they will both work with your vehicle and get the job done so it just kind of boils down to how much you're willing to spend or if you have used a specific type in the past and been happy with it.
