Question:
Can I use this hitch on a minivan. Specifically a 2017 Toyota Sienna?
asked by: Philip B
Expert Reply:
The # UF48-979033 Ultra-Fab Dirt Bike Carrier can be used on your Sienna, but the combined weight of the bike and the carrier (which is 50 lbs) cannot exceed either the tongue weight capacity of the hitch you're using or the 350 lb tongue weight capacity of the vehicle as mentioned in the owner's vehicle. You'll need to observe whichever capacity is the lower of the two.
If the weight of the bike exceeds the capacity of the hitch or vehicle, you'll be best off using a small utility trailer like # K2MMT4X6 for a 6 foot length or # K2MMT5X7 for a 7-1/2 foot length. You'd also need some ratchet straps like # 297-7RSBB-M. A wheel chock such as # RA-17 would also be a good choice.
