Question:
Thanks very much for the prompt and easy to understand reply. Are “hatch anchors “ that you referenced a part that comes standard with the back mount bike rack? I will be able to make a good decision once I receive a bit more information about the hatch anchors”

Helpful Expert Reply:
The Hollywood Racks Over the Top bike rack part # HRF2-3 that you referenced comes with hatch anchors which you could use instead of lower hooks since your 2016 Honda CR-V does not have a lower lip to attach to. These are foam anchors that get closed in the hatch to hold the rack instead of hooks.
Since hitch mounted options are basically superior in every way that would be what I recommend as your best choice. You get better stability, an easier install, and the rack won't contact the vehicle paint. You'd need a hitch installed like the part # e98868 which is a confirmed fit for your vehicle and would allow you to use the Hollywood Racks Trail Rider # HR200Z which is a very solid rack and the best rack for the money. I attached an install video and review video for the rack and hitch for you to check out as well.
