Question:

I just bout a truck that already has a Demco hijacker 21k fifth wheel in it. I’m going to keep this hitch but I also tow a gooseneck can I just buy the top half of the hitch so I have both?

There is not a way to switch out the top of the Demco Hijacker with a gooseneck ball. However, if your Demco Hijacker fits under bed UMS Demco rails like the Demco Hijacker part # DM8550032 you can use the Demco Hijacker UMS Series Gooseneck Trailer Hitch for UMS Series Base Rails part # DM5988. The adapter will attach to the UMS underbed rails and give you a goose neck ball in the truck. You will have to remove the Hijacker to do this.

If the truck already has industry standard 5th wheel rails (like the ones I have attached in the included photo) then you can use a gooseneck adapter like Curt Spyder Gooseneck Trailer Hitch for Fifth Wheel Rails part # 16085. This would still require the removal of the Hijacker before towing a Gooseneck trailer.

You could also replace the inner tube of your Gooseneck coupler to an inner tube with a fifth wheel king pin at the end. That way you can use the fifth wheel hitch with the gooseneck trailer. I have attached our selection of adapters available so that you can see which adapter best fits your trailer.
