The trailer wiring for a 2010 to 2012 Kia Forte, # 118415, will connect in line with the tail light wiring inside the trunk of the vehicle. The trailer connector will remain inside the trunk until it is needed. It can be pulled out and the trunk closed on it (the weather stripping will protect the wires, avoid the locking mechanism). I have included a link to the installation instructions for you.
It does take some careful movement of the hitch to get it into place as you can see in the instructions. By lowering the exhaust, it will be easier to get everything into place as indicated in the instructions.
