Is the screen metal? My original rusted out, looking for plastic mesh since so close to the beach

The screen of the Replacement Round Screen for Maxxair RV Roof Vents # MA05-30925 is metal. There isn't a plastic version that fits the MaxxAir roof vent setups. There are aerosol corrosion inhibitors out there that would work well to help prevent the corrosion.
