Finding Trailer Wiring Install Connector for 2020 Subaru Outback for Tekonsha Trailer Wiring
Published 03/10/2020 >
Question:
Thank you for your reply. I finally got to what I think is the right set of wires, however, plug (or I should say plugs) don't match the one provided with the tekonsha harness. I have attached photos of the two plugs that were taped in the described location. Do I need to purchase a different wiring harness?

Sounds like you did find it. We've heard the trailer wiring harness the 2020 Subaru Outback has for installing the # 118467 can be buried a bit and that you have to reach pretty far back to get it so based on what you described you have found it.
I attached an install video link to this page that shows how we found it on a similar 2019 Outback. Here's text from a review we got from a customer detailing their experience finding the harness as well:
"The only problem I had was in "finding" the wiring from the driver's side of the rear compartment. I removed all of the loose styrofoam and other parts that were in the way. This went easily and according to the directions. Retrieving the wire from under the carpet/sound-proofing above the wheel well was the only difficult part. Because the car was new and I didn't want to damage the fabric glued to the body, I reviewed the Video and even went to my dealership to be sure I had not over-looked a step. With my big hands, I was finally able to reach and pull out the wire and plug in the harness without any damage to the sound barrier or wires. The rest was easy."
