What is the Wattage on the Opti-Brite 12v/24v LED Dome Light
Updated 02/11/2020 | Published 02/10/2020 >
Question:
how do you figure wattage when lumens is given
asked by: Rich
Expert Reply:
I'll start off by saying that lumens is a measurement of the light that is given off by a particular light and not a measurement of energy usage. When it comes to determining the wattage, that is calculated by multiplying the amp draw multiplied by the voltage of the power supply (Formula is: Current (a) x Voltage (v) = Power (w)).
The Opti-Brite 12v/24v LED Dome Light # ILL08COB uses 1.61 amps on 12.8v power and 0.8 amps on 24v power. When you use these numbers, on a 12.8v power supply the wattage is going to be 20.608w and on 24v the wattage is 19.2w.
