Question:

I have a 1999 American Eagle 40VF. It has a 28 series kwikee single step. My step works intermittently. It may work 10 or 15 times. Then I work on it, it might work 2 or 3 times. It stays in extended position. I remove the pin and use it manually. It looks like I need part #LC379608. Here the #s on the motor. Controller #909513 S/N 89256 Its 23 3/4inch wide Also has what look like casting #151320 and #151332 on the motor housing. My owner manual list a replacement motor part#909501 Thank you for you help.

I spoke with Lippert about your Kwikee 28 Series Step and they informed me that the correct control module is the Replacement Control Unit for Kwikee Electric RV Steps part # LC379606 and the correct motor is the Replacement Motor with Mounting Plate for Kwikee Electric RV Steps part # LC379608. That said, it may be best to just obtain the update kit using the Motor Upgrade Kit for Kwikee 25 Series Electric RV Steps part # LC379769 (Works With 25/28 Series).

I am not able to determine which component is at fault based on the provided description but if you can provide additional info as to what the issue is I may be able to help or you can just go with the upgrade kit which is what I recommend.
