Dexter DX Series Electric Actuator Not Fully Releasing Disc Brakes

Question:
My dexter K71651 ran dry due to blown out caliper seal, rebuilt brake, filled fluid tank, bled brake no air. Test run, all 4 brakes will not fully realease all hubs run very warm, no smoke but u can smell brakes. Thanks

There could be a couple things happening here with the setup after you re-built the Dexter DX Series Electric Over Hydraulic Brake Actuator part # K71-651 for Disc Brakes. There could be an issue with the check valve in the actuator which is not allowing the fluid to be released properly. If that is the case then it it not user serviceable.
It could also be a blocked rubber brake line from the actuator to before the brakes tee off on the trailer. I recommend to replace your rubber lines first and see if that helps. If not then the actuator will need to be replaced more than likely.
